Marubeni Hong Kong & South China Limited, being one of the lead trading companies in the region, contributed its best effort on the environmental protection issues.   The Company was awarded ISO14001 Certification in the year 2001 and such award has been extended year by year which demonstrates the company's commitment of continual improvement to the said issues.   The Company declared its Environmental Policy as follows: 1. Adoption of the Environment-Conscious Policy   Recognizing the importance of environmental issues and the commitment to good corporate citizenship, the Company shall pursue business activities with environmental considerations and shall support environment protection and prevention of pollution.   2. Establishment of Environmental Management System and Its Continual Improvement   Concerted efforts shall be made to establish the Environmental Management System which embodies the Company's Environmental Basic Policy, and continually to improve the system.   3. Observation of Environmental Laws and Regulations   The Company is committed to comply with the environmental laws and regulations of Hong Kong and other requirement, to which the Company subscribes.   4. Efficient Use of Resources and Energy   The natural resources and energy shall be efficiently utilized to minimize waste and pollution and to help preserve the limited natural resources.   5. Environmental Policy Publication and Awareness   All staff shall be fully informend of the Company's Environmental Policy and encouraged to undertake environmental training in order to comprehend and apply the policy effectively. The Environment Policy shall be made available to the public.
